Call for Emerging Curators
Fingal County Council and Draíocht Arts Centre are seeking submissions from emerging curators for its annual recent graduate show.
Amharc Fhine Gall seeks to recognise, nurture and showcase the range of talent of an emerging artist(s) from Fingal, working in any medium, seeking their first exhibition in a recognised gallery in Ireland.This year we are inviting the input of an emerging curator to partner this process.The curator will be an independent curator at an early stage of his or her practice.It is hope that this opportunity will provide valuable work experience in recognised gallery space and highlight the key role and importance of curatorial practice for both the regional art scene and for the broader context of contemporary culture.
Exhibition Dates
Opening :12th November 2011 – 22nd January 2011
Selected Curator will receive:
? A professional Fee plus travel expenses
? A chance to present emerging artists in a recognised gallery space
? Valuable work experience liaising with both the local authority and gallery staff
? A catalogue
? The opportunity to raise professional profile

All submissions will be received by Thursday 22nd of July 2010
* curators are not required to be from Fingal
The curator will review the submissions, selecting a suitable artist/s for their show
The curator will be expected to visit the gallery space and liaise with artists directly while developing their concept. They will be responsible for the installation and delivery and collection arrangements for the show.A budget is available for a catalogue which will accompany the exhibition and technical assistance will be provided for at Draiocht.
